Dubai/ Thursday August 9, 2012: The UAE youth national team (U-17) cruised to a sweeping 6-0 victory over Al Shabab U-19 in a friendly at Al Shabab playground here on Wednesday night.
The UAE head coach Khalifa Mubarak fielded two different strings during the two periods of the warm up in order to give as many players as possible the chance to show the best of them.
Khalfan Mubarak broke the deadlock in the second minute from the start with a lovely long range free kick before Ahmed Rabie doubled the scoreline two minutes later. Ahmed Jameel made it 3-0 with five minutes remaining from the break.
In the second half, a new eleven string came in and the boys in white continued to dominate the pitch. Towards the 70th minute, Khaled Abdul Rahim increased the advantage to 4-0 and Saeed Jasim made it 5-0 before Omer Jumaa sent home a perfectly executed penalty kick to add the sixth goal.
The UAE lads are preparing for the AGCC U-17 Championship scheduled in Kuwait later this year.
