UAE lads impressive
The UAE U-22 national team continued their winning streak with a well deserved 1-0 victory over Turkmenistan in the second round of the current 2013 AFC U-22 Championship qualifiers at the Sultan Qaboos Complex in Muscat, Oman on Monday. Omer Amer fired home the all-important goal 19 minutes into the otherwise fast-paced clash.
The boys in white raised their tally to six points from two starts to set the pace of the six-side competition.
The UAE lads did everything right and managed to dominate the run of the match thanks to the hard work at midfield.
Towards the 19th minute, Amer Omer made all to penetrate through the Turkmenistan’s defensive and fired home a strong right footer from the mouth of the box to hit the cross-bar en roué to the empty net. Thereafter, the UAE lads managed to defend their narrow advantage to make it perfect two out of two.
